Democracy

The English word ‘democracy’ is the union of two Greek words ‘demo’ and ‘kratia’ demo means ‘crowd’ and ‘kratia’ means power. In this sense democracy means power of the crowd. But, however, the meaning of word democracy is little different in reality than in true sense of the word ‘Democracy’ very commonly means now, a rule by a majority of the people who act according to certain rules and regulation widely accepted by the people of a country. The most famous definitions of democracy is as Abraham Lincin said, ‘it is the government of the people, by the people and for the people.’


Democracy has many merits. It encourages and enables equal opportunities to make progress to all the people. People enjoy their rights. There is no difference for power since every citizen is equally granted with one vote right. People are supreme and cannot be exploited by any dictator or group of persons. It gives freedom of espression to the masses.

National Unity

National Unity is a great virtue. It is the unity of the citizen of a country. It is also the reflection of patriotism. Patriotic people never quarrel with each other. They are always eager to offer sometimes for the prosperity of the nation.


National unity is the most important factor for the development of a country. If they are aptly and honestly untied, they can do anything to develop the country. It is considered as a great strength. It cannot be weakened by any power. Many nations have become powerful and prosperous by the virtue of national unity. It play a vital role in preserving human rights. If people are united, they love and co-operate each other. The feeling and practice of brotherhood can be built up among the people by virtue of national unity. Our brave forefathers could save our motherland because of their unique national unity, patriotism and sacrifice.

Patriotism

Patriotism is the love of one’s own country. It is the divine spark in the human breast. A patriot is a person who is always ready to die for his motherland. Thus, patriotism means the love of the motherland. It is a noble virtue. The man who lacks it is called a “dead soul”.


It is said that mother and motherland are greater than the heaven. It is patriotism that has inspired martyrs to sacrifice their lives for sake of their countries; in the service of their countries. Patriots fight for the liberty of their country. Their names stand recorded in golden words in history of the nation. Moreover, they are liked and respected by all. They are welcomed and sung everywhere in the nation. They are immortal and worshipped by the citizens of the country. They are admires everywhere in the world.

Importance Of Peace For Development

Peace is the state of being free form any kind of human conflict and violence. All the activities of the country run smoothly in the situation of peace. Peace is the sign of development and prosperity. Human rights are not violated. People can walk freely from one place to another without having any fear in their mind. They can do their business without any obstruction. People respect each other rights. They are also committed to fulfil their duty toward their society. Rule and order is respect by all. People can raise their living standard by working hard. Peace brings happiness among people. They are involved in development activities. Peace helps to promotes human rights, democratic norms and value. Peace helps to create the feeling of love, trust, tolerance, and brotherhood among people. Development process can’t go ahead without peace and harmony.


Peace is the mother of civilization and war is the demon of destruction. Civilization and development cannot progress if there is no peace in the country. Literature flourishes only in the time of peace. It is also the case with philosophy, science, industry and art. In our daily lives also we find interest and pleasure in doing work in times of peace. In times of war its energy and resource are all employed and defend.

Child Labour

Child labour is defined as “under-aged children working for money or food”. In a developing countries like Nepal, there are thousands of children who are works as labourers In factories, construction sites and homes. This is a problem that the Government have to deal with immediately.


Children who work as labourers are made to work any rest. They are easy to be ordered. Other labourers also might tell them to do this or that. They are paid less. They are paid lesser than grownups and perhaps even beaten and abused. They carry stones and bundles of clothes on their head or back. They work on machines that are dangerous and risky. Many children have been killed while they are working on such machines.

Human Rights

The term “human rights” indicates right of human being that gives them human dignity. It is fight of man to lives, work, act, speak and pursue happiness without any restriction. In short, it is social, cultural, political and civil rights of an individual. It is right which sometime hoe beyond the rules laws of a particular state.


Sometime people take human rights only as political right of an individual. But it is more than this. Since human rights guarantees human dignity, violations of any such right may be vulnerable to human freedom.

Human rights can only flourish in the democratic society where the country runs by the rule of law. The democratic values and institution are basic foundations for human rights. Similarly, peace and social harmony can also provide ground for human rights.

Education for Children

There are different stages in human life. We must learn different knowledge and skills during different stages, but real learning age begins at the age of five and further. Education is equally important for all. It one of the fundamental requirements for each. Life can be successful by the help of appropriate education.


Childhood is the cornerstone of human life. It is the age of starting and getting formal education. Education is one of the most important for the development of an individual and the country as well. Education is the preparation for life. Education promotes the consciousness of the people. It strengthens national unity. It provides required man-power for the development of a country

Co-Education

The education system in which both boy and girls together gets education in the same institution and during the same time is called co-education. Mostly, all over the world, both boys and girls get education together. In Nepal, there are only few female education institutions. Most of the schools, colleges and universities are providing co- education.

Female Education

There is no progress without education. Education has been a basic need of every person in any society. Man a man and different from other creature because he has a mind to think. Education raises one’s level of thinking. As man and women are the two sides of a coin, both are to be equally educated.


A female is weak not because she is physically weak; she is instructed to be weak since her birth. Our society I still biased in the matter of educating women. Men think that women are both mentally and physically inferior to men.

The Importance Of Education

Education is the act of learning. It makes a man responsive to change. Only change can bring progress. Therefore, education is very necessary.


To be educated means to be able to lead a trained life. By learning a person can have knowledge of many things. From the knowledge he gains through education, he can develop himself and con also help to his families, society and the country. It makes him realize why change is necessary for development.

Beside, people become scholar and scientists by means of education. The first place where he begins to get his education is his home, from his sister, brother and his parents. Later on, he learns many things in subject of his choice. In this way he becomes an educated person.

Education is the wealth of a man, it cannot be robbed or lost. It is therefore we are right to say that education is an important wealth of a man, which helps in the development of a man, his family, a society and a country.
